Helping Artists Share Their Stories

Many artists across Washington state have suffered a loss of income, and we would like to donate our skills to the communities that have provided the space for Seattle Art Workshop (and our other arts endeavors) to thrive. We assist with resume writing, grant application review, proposal editing, and other writing needs.

Challenge: Where Do Artists Fit Into An Uncertain Economy

This vision was borne out of the love we have cultivated for the arts communities on both sides of Washington throughout our art careers. When searching for jobs, we didn't find a channel that connected the unique skills developed by artists (visual memory, material knowledge, creative problem solving to name just a few) to professional opportunities in arts or other job sectors. Having worked in the arts ourselves, we are familiar with a small fraction of the creative capital Washington artists have to offer. The jobs landscape is changing and we want to ensure artists are financially supported during this season of change.

We are offering pro bono assistance to artists in the following areas:
Resume help for artists & creatives
Grant help, including looking over draft applications
Writing/editorial assistance, telling your story, bio, etc.
Finding your strengths in the new economy

We believe artists and creatives make lasting contribution to the cultural fabric of society and want to help local artists get the funding and resources they need. We have lived and worked on both sides of WA in the arts and want to give back to the communities that uplifted us.

Value: Sustainability

The creative arts in Washington state are vital to the soul and spirit of our communities. Art, whether capturing a moment or inspiring us for generations, is an expression of the human condition that uplifts and transforms us. We want artists to confidently connect with an emerging jobs market with compelling stories of their work and process, helping them secure funding for their projects, matching them with potential opportunities, and deepening their skills in the communities that depend on them.
